Who has The Power? The Power to control minds, move objects, and murder by telekinesis? That's what scientists at a space lab want to know when they realize they are targeted by one of their own - someone who possesses a superhuman power and a terrifying secret agenda. Producer George Pal brings the imagination and craft that turned his The War of the Worlds and The Time Machine into sci fi-classics to this eerie tale heightened by a suspenseful Miklos Rozsa score. The fine cast, led by George Hamilton and Suzanne Pleshette, includes two talents forever emblematic of paranoid post-war sci-fi/creature features: Michael Rennie (The Day the Earth Stood Still) and Richard Carlson (Creature from the Black Lagoon).

The complete fourth season of the TV series The Dead Zone. The fourth season may fall a little short of the three that preceded it, but The Dead Zone remains one of the smartest, most intriguing series on television. As its adherents well know by now, the show, based on Stephen King's 1979 novel of the same name, was adapted for TV by Michael and Shawn Piller, with actor Anthony Michael Hall (who's also one of the producers) starring as Johnny Smith, who recovered from a horrific car accident and resulting six-year coma to find that his fiancee (Nicole deBoer) is now married to the town sheriff (Chris Bruno), who's helping raise her and Johnny's son. What's more, Johnny is now possessed of some remarkable and unsettling powers: simply by touching another person, or objects touched by others, Smith experiences visions that illuminate events that have happened, will happen, or are simultaneously taking place elsewhere. It must be handy to know which elevator button to push when you're looking for someone who's in trouble, or to realize that it's okay to jump off a hundred-foot bridge because you've seen yourself surviving the fall, but Smith's visions are rarely comforting and not always reliable, leading to moments of genuine suspense and intrigue. With eleven episodes (plus a "bonus episode" from December, 2005) spread out over three discs, The Dead Zone is at its best when dealing with the series' one ongoing storyline: i.e., the machinations of Congressman Greg Stillson (...

With all-new DVD-exclusive bonus content featuring show creator Kenneth Johnson, and an amazing slate of guest stars, it’s the ultimate DVD set of the season so intense you won’t want to miss a minute! The television adventures of Dr. David Banner and his muscle-bound, anger-prone alter ego The Incredible Hulk come to an abrupt conclusion with The Complete Fifth Season set. As fans of the cult series know all too well, a slight change in ratings and costs for the series prompted its parent network to pull the plug on the show before its fifth season was launched; prior to this, seven episodes had been shot immediately after the conclusion of the fourth season in anticipation of the union strike that brought TV production to a halt in 1981. The Hulk's producers had hoped to bring the series to a more concise conclusion in its fifth season, but were denied the opportunity to shoot an additional nine episodes in order to accomplish that goal. As it stands, The Incredible Hulk ends on an ambiguous note, with Bill Bixby's David Banner still plagued by the monster (Lou F...
