For over 25 years, Sylvester Stallone's "mythic commando" Rambo (Variety) has thrilled audiences worldwide. From "ragged and flashy" First Blood (The New York Times) to the "shockingly entertaining" Rambo (The Seattle Times), the series chronicles a reluctant killing machine as he wages war against corrupt global forces – all while facing a battle within his own soul. Rambo: The Complete Collector's Set has everything the ultimate Rambo fan needs, including all 4 films together for the first time! There is no serrated knife included in this collection, but Rambo: The Complete Collector's Set will satisfy almost everything else a fan needs. Six discs are included, comprising the four feature Rambo films, a digital copy of Rambo (2008), and a disc full of supplemental material. (A number of the extras have been available on previous DVD editions.) Each film has a commentary: directors George P. Cosmatos and Peter MacDonald on Rambo: First Blood Part II and Rambo III respectively, and Sylvester Stallone on First Blood and Rambo. Although mentioned in the packaging, a previously available commentary by First Blood novelist David Morrell is not included. If you've never heard a Stallone commentary, be advised: the man has uncanny recall of scenes and moments, and is not shy about recounting anecdotes (especially when it comes to establishing how he changed the material to his liking or suffered for a scene). Seriously, he's a very entertaining talker. Surprisingly, the collection of featurettes, especially the historical-context stuff, is remarkably ambitious and even-handed; the interviewees include some very trustworthy and respected authorities talking about Vietnam, Afghanistan, and the mythological resonance of the Rambo character. In short, for a movie series of dubious credibility, this is a top-of-the-line effort. --Robert Horton

Who stole $250 million in Nazi gold? And who killed General George S. Patton to get away with it? A chilling suspense thriller, Brass Target makes the convincing case that these two actual events - the theft of the bullion and Patton's death ("officially" killed in an auto accident) - were not coincidental. Was Patton assassinated? Grisly fact or engrossing fiction? The all-star "top brass" cast includes Sophia Loren as a mysterious refugee, John Cassavetes as Maj. Joe De Luca, George Kennedy as Patton, Robert Vaughn as the mastermind behind the plot and Max von Sydow as a cold-blooded assassin. Based on an intriguing book by Frederick Nolan, Brass Target is "a classy conspiracy thriller with one of those great blood-and-guts plots" (Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times). Brass Target takes aim and hits the mark for action-packed suspense. When sold by Amazon.com, this product will be manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. Nominated for seven Academy Awards® in 1954, including Best Picture and Best Actor, THE CAINE MUTINY is a classic film about the unstable Captain Queeg (Humphrey Bogart) and his tumultuous command of an old minesweeper and her weary crew. On the high seas during the dramatic battles of World War II, Queeg’s by-the-book approach pushes his crew and his popular second-in-command, Lt. Maryk (Van Johnson), to the breaking point. After a series of questionable orders, Maryk confronts Queeg when he orders the ship directly into the path of a deadly typhoon. Maryk invokes naval code and relieves Queeg of his command, forcing the crew to mutiny. Once safely back in port, Maryk is court-martialed for treason, setting off a tense trial that exposes the true state of Queeg’s mind. Nominated for Best Actor, Humphrey Bogart gives a searing performance as he is systematically broken down in this classic tale of military conduct in a time of war. Humphrey Bogart is heartbreaking as the tragic Captain Queeg in this 1954 film, based on a novel by Herman Wouk, about a mutiny aboard a navy ship during World War II. Stripped of his authority by two officers under his command (played by Van Johnson and Robert Francis) during a devastating storm, Queeg becomes a crucial witness at a court martial that reveals as much about the invisible injuries of war as anything. Edward Dmytryk (Murder My Sweet, Raintree County) directs the action scenes with a sure hand and nudges his all-male cast toward some of the most well-defined characters of 1950s cinema. The courtroom scenes alone have become the basis for a stage play (and a television movie in 1988), but it is a more satisfying experience to see the entire story in context. --Tom Keogh
