ABC News Specials Medical Mysteries Series-Episode #1
Manufacturer: ABC News
Medical science has progressed exponentially in recent times, but scientists are still left with unanswered questions when it comes to the human body. "Medical Mysteries" looks at some of the rarest disorders and syndromes in medicine today. First ABC News examines two cases in which individuals either sleepwalked to their death or caused themselves serious injury while in a dream state. Then, hear the story of a modern day "sleeping beauty," but instead of a fairy tale it's a disease. Medically referred to as Kleine-Levin Syndrome (KLS), the neurological disorder manifests itself in an unexplainable urge to sleep continuously for periods up to 23 hours a day. The disease, which affects an estimated 500 people worldwide, completely removes people from day-to-day life for weeks or months at a time, and has no known cure. ABC News also examines two couples who have had severe sleep issues. In one case a husband routinely initiates unwelcome sex with his wife while he says he is asleep. In the second case, the wife is also the victim of physically aggressive behavior from her sleeping husband, but this time it's violent. The program investigates why and how these behaviors occur. When sold by Amazon.com, this product will be manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. ABC News profiles a remarkable young man, Farrah Gray, who as a child set out with executive-sized ambition to make life easier for his family in the housing projects of Chicago's South Side. He made his first million by the time he was 14. Now at 21, he tells ABC News how he got people to take him seriously at a young age and also reveals his clearly defined formula for success. When sold by Amazon.com, this product will be manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. ABC News Nightline Winnie Mandela's Fall from Grace
Manufacturer: ABC News
During Nelson Mandela's long imprisonment, Winnie Mandela was regarded as the saint of Soweto, the mother of an emerging free South Africa. At this time she was running for a high post in the next South African government, but she first had to face allegations of murder and human rights abuses. She was indeed a victim of harassment and government brutality and she did show incredible toughness and courage as a surrogate for her imprisoned husband. However, she may also have been at least an accessory to torture and murder and there were serious allegations that she is directly responsible for both.Anchor: Ted Koppel Correspondent: Jim WootenAirdate: September 25, 1997When sold by Amazon.com, this product will be manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. ABC News Primetime Austisic Children
Manufacturer: ABC News
Marc and Sophia Augier were overjoyed when their dream of a big family quickly became a reality with the birth of son Marcel and, little more than a year later, twin boys Christophe and Henri. Yet that dream turned into a nightmare when they found out that, incredibly, all three babies suffered from autism. This mysterious and complex developmental brain disorder-which affects, by some estimates, as many as one in 166 children-has no known cause or cure. ABC News reports how the Augiers decided to devote their lives and their savings to pursue a cutting-edge and sometimes controversial-therapy for their sons called "Applied Behavior Analysis," or ABA, in an effort to prevent them from slipping away forever into a world of utter isolation. Anchor: Elizabeth Vargas Airdate: 4/22/2004When sold by Amazon.com, this product will be manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply.

ABC News Specials A Line in the Sand: War or Peace?
Manufacturer: ABC News
Five and a half months after Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait, George Bush drew a line in the sand. When ABC News anchor, Peter Jennings went to air on January 14, 1991, the U.S. was not necessarily on the eve of war, but if President Bush attacked, he would have had the support of a United Nations resolution and a majority in the Congress, albeit a narrow one. Millions of Americans, whether they supported the President or not, were beleaguered by questions, which only seemed to beget questions--whether this is an American concern to whether American military power can achieve the President's objectives--all the "what if" questions. This piece of geography has become hauntingly familiar to Americans, though its landscape, largely barren, continues to disguise just how complicated the Middle East really is. Airdate: 1/14/1991Anchor: Peter JenningsWhen sold by Amazon.com, this product will be manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply.

ABC News 20/20 John Stossel's Politically Incorrect Guide to Politics
Manufacturer: ABC News
There's tremendous excitement about this year's election. People say that their candidate will fix America. Senator Barack Obama has inspired idol worship that's usually lavished on rock stars. At the Republican convention, one man told John Stossel that Senator John McCain was like ''Superman.'' Stossel says, ''Give me a break,'' politicians' ''fixes'' often have unintended consequences that are worse than the original problem. Do we really need a president to plan our lives, to direct us? Or does most of life work best when you are in charge?Reports include:-Spontaneous Order: Most of life is governed by spontaneous order. It regulates how we choose our jobs, hobbies, lovers, recreation and most of the rest of our lives. It runs most of the economy. When Stossel tries to ''govern'' a skating rink filled with expert and beginner skaters (he shouts orders with a bullhorn), skaters hate it. Some fall. A politician observing the problem might say: ''We need to elect a more expert leader.'' Stossel tries that by giving the bullhorn to Olympic gold medalist Brian Boitano. But he does no better.-New Orleans and Hurricane Katrina: After a disaster, people desperately want government help. FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, is a fulltime specialist in disaster relief. Why do they so often disappoint? Stossel compares Wal-Mart's and FEMA's response to hurricane Katrina. He investigates why Wal-Mart delivered water to people while FEMA bureaucrats dithered.-Campaign Financ...
