Includes free item Fourteen-year-old Yusuke Urameshi, the hero of the fantasy-adventure Yu Yu Hakusho, brags about being the toughest kid in Sarayashki Junior High: He lives to fight, especially with his rival Kuwabara. When Yusuke's killed saving a little boy from a speeding car, he's given another chance by Koenma, the son of the ruler of the Spirit World. If Yusuke properly nurtures a "spirit egg," it will hatch into a benevolent beast that can help him return to his body permanently; too much negative energy will produce a monster that will devour him. Yusuke temporarily wins his life back with some help from Kayko (or Keiko), the girl he secretly loves, and Botan, the pretty pilot of the River Styx. Koenma makes him a "spirit detective," assigned to tracking down evil spirits prowling the human world. Yusuke's evolution from selfish thug to good guy includes some false steps, but he defeats his first foes with a mixture of daring, imagination, luck--and kindness. He wins over Kuwabara and the demons Kurama and Hiei, and undergoes special training from super-psychic Genkai. Yusuke and his allies battle the four "Saint Beasts," demons associated with the Chinese directional animals, and rescue a Snow Maiden imprisoned by a corrupt capitalist. These episodes conclude with the opening of the Dark Tournament, a sort of supernatural WWF tag-team smackdown that will take up most of the next two seasons. This popular comedy-adventure plays like a cross between Dragon Ball Z and a minor Frank Capra movie. (Rated TV PG: risqué humor, cartoon violence, violence against women, alcohol and tobacco use.) --Charles Solomon

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? The Complete Third Season (DVD)Originally aired as part of the Scooby's All Stars series, these fabulous Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? adventures of the sleuthing canine and his Mystery Inc. pals will easily solve the case of any cartoon fan's entertainment needs. Within these 16 captivating capers, Scooby-Doo and Shaggy, Daphne, Fred and Velma tackle The Tar Monster, face down Iron Face and globetrek for ghosts galore from A Menace in Venice to The Warlock of Wimbledon. For fans of classic animated fun, this cool collection of Scooby-Doo capers is where you want to be!]]> Originally released as The Scooby-Doo Show, the 16 episodes included on this Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! The Complete Third Season compilation were produced for the 1978 Scooby's All-Stars television series. They do not include the characters Scooby-Dum or Scooby-Dee, or any Dynomutt programming. The classic Mystery Inc. gang represented here consists of the original five characters: the preppy, take-charge Fred; somewhat ditsy Daphne; intellectual Velma; and the ever-hungry, nervous, and bumbling Shaggy and Scooby. As the gang travels around the globe to places like China, Scotland, England, and the United States, they invariably stumble into one mystery after another. Ghosts and monsters abound, but the persistence of Fred and Daphne combined with Velma's intellect and Shaggy's and Scooby's uncanny tendency to stumble across vital clues ensures a tidy, down-to-earth solution to even the most other-worldly mysteries. Of course, it's the wit and slapstick humor that make these episodes true classics. A 25-minute, 2006 "Hanna-Barbera: From H to B" featurette follows the program and explores the careers of Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera with some very brief original footage of both men and a host of interviews with Hanna-Barbera animators, writers, and voice talent that serve to highlight the two men's individual strengths, tremendous work ethic, and collaborative spirit. From the Director of The Nightmare Before Christmas comes a visually stunning stop-motion animated feature - the first to be originally filmed in 3D! Discover how the filmmakers and artisans created the magical handmade world of Coraline, exclusively in this 2-Disc Collector's Edition! Coraline Jones is bored in her new home until she finds a secret door that leads her into a world that's just like her own…but better! But when this fantastical adventure turns dangerous and her "other" Mother tries to keep her forever, Coraline must count on her resourcefulness and bravery to get home. Coraline is "A visual marvel." (Claudia Puig, USA TODAY). A dark and creepy film about family relationships directed by Henry Selick of Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach fame, Coraline is based on the haunting book Coraline by Neil Gaiman. The first stop-motion feature shot in stereoscopic 3-D, Coraline features big-headed, stick-bodied animated characters with huge eyes and demonic grins set against menacing backgrounds and an undercurrent of spooky music. Coraline is a teenager who has just moved to an old house in the middle of nowhere with her writer parents and she is bored, bored, bored. Her only companions are an annoyingly talkative boy Wybie (short for Why Born), some eccentric neighbors from the theater and circus, and a strange, button-eyed doll with a marked resemblance to Coraline which Wybie found in an old trunk of his grandmother's. When Coraline finds an old door hidden behind an armoire and papered over with wallpaper, she convinces her mother to unlock it, only to find a wall of bricks. When Coraline revisits the door later that night, the bricks magically disappear and she discovers a strange pathway to another world where everything is just what she wishes for. In stark contrast to the real world where Coraline's parents just don't have time for her, her "Other Mother" and "Other Father" in this alternate world are the perfect loving, attentive parents who anticipate her every need a...

NARUTO Shippuden Box Set 2Team Kakashi is joined by Team Guy in their pursuit of Gaara's kidnappers, Deidara and Sasori, but their way to the Akatsuki hideout is fraught with familiar enemies and deadly traps. Once inside, Sakura and Granny Chiyo must take on Chiyo's own grandson, the puppet master Sasori, whose complex tricks and genius puppetry demand every last ounce of Chiyo's and Sakura's strength and skill to counter. Meanwhile, Naruto and Kakashi take off after Deidara, who is once again on the run with Gaara in tow…]]> The attack of the ninja teams from the Hidden Leaf and Sand Villages on the evil Akatsuki cabal comes to a spectacular climax as director Hayato Date introduces an increasingly flashy array of special effects into Naruto Shippuden. Even hard-bitten Granny Chiyo is impressed with Naruto's fighting strength--and his ability to make friends, a talent she'd never considered important. But the situation is graver than the members of Team Kakashi and Team Guy imagined: the Akatsuki are proceeding with their terrible plan to exploit the power of the multi-tailed demons, and the bizarre ritual to extract that power results in Gaara's death. Most of these episodes are devoted to three simultaneous battles: Naruto and Kakashi pursue the sneering Deidara; the members of Team Guy fight clones of themselves; Sakura and Chiyo tackle puppet-master Sasori. The latter is the most exciting by far, involving wonderfully strange and murderous puppets. Sakura gets a chance to prove her abilities as both a medical and fighting ninja, stunning Chiyo with her skill. However, the fights drag on: Deidara seems to have an endless supply of exploding paper-clay; Sasori, like many anime villains, takes an awful lot of killing. But fans will relish the mixture of friendship, slapstick, and hard-hitting action that has made Naruto Shippuden an international hit. (Rated T+ Older Teen, but suitable for ages 12 and older: violence, violence against women, grotesque imagery) --Charles Solomon (14. Naruto's Growth, 15....
