Join comedian Adam Ferrera, champion rally and drift racer Tanner Foust and racing analyst Rutledge Wood as they unleash Top Gear and explore the history of America, one lap at a time! Filled with wit and humor, Top Gear brings even more ambitious stunts, extreme challenges, humor and mischief in a series chock-full of high adrenaline action entertainment, car reviews and eccentric adventures. Top Gear challenges include travelling a moonshine run along a classic Prohibition route in the Deep South, teaching a blind man to drift a Nissan 370Z, racing a HALO jumper in a Ford Velociraptor across the Arizona desert, discovering America’s toughest truck on an epic journey through the Alaskan wilderness, and evading a Cobra helicopter gunship in a Dodge Viper… through the middle of town. The Stig also appears, setting definitive Power Laps for performance cars featured on the show, and there’s a host of celebrities taking the wheel in “Big Star in a Small Car†including astronaut Buzz Aldrin, Lost actor Dominic Monahan, Modern Family’s Ty Burrel, musician Kid Rock, Avatar star Michelle Rodriguez and skateboard legend and game designer Tony Hawk. A very popular, very English auto show crosses the pond with the debut of Top Gear US, featuring 10 first-season episodes (plus bonus material) on three discs--and while the Brit-ness is definitely gone, in virtually every other respect this feast for car freaks has made the trip intact. Three hosts (the new Yanks are Adam Ferrara, Tanner Foust, and Rutledge Wood) road test high-performance, high price tag "supercars" (Lamborghini Gallardo, Morgan Aero SuperSports, Aston Martin V12 Vantage) and trucks; merrily punish old beaters purchased for $1,000 (Cadillac Coupe DeVille, Buick Roadmaster); take part in bizarre challenges, like those matching a Dodge Viper against a helicopter and a Ford VelociRaptor truck against a HALO parachute jumper; host visiting celebs (Tony Hawk, Michelle Rodriguez, Kid Rock, astronaut Buzz Aldrin) who drive a l...
In Dual Survival, the survivalists are dropped into a scenario that could happen to anyone: marooned boaters, lost hikers, stranded mountain climbers. Equipped with minimal gear that would have been carried in the real-life situations, Dave Canterbury and Cody Lundin must draw upon their arsenal of skills to devise extraordinary ways to use what they can find in their surroundings, as well as ordinary objects, and demonstrate what it takes to stay alive. How will they use a 35mm camera, condoms and a pack of cigarettes in the Laos jungle? Or a car battery, electrical wiring, tires and seat cushions from a broken-down car in Peru?Episodes:Shipwrecked - Cody and Dave must use items they salvage from their life raft to find shelter, build a fire and find food and water when they arrive on a deserted island off the coast of Nova Scotia in the dead of winter - showing what it takes to survive.Failed Ascent - In this scenario, Dave Canterbury and Cody Lundin take on a mountaineer's worst nightmare: stranded on top of a mountain in New Zealand with limited supplies. Together they battle glacial peaks and deep rocky canyons to show what it takes to survive.Out of Air - Each year, an average of 20 people drown while cave diving. For this survival scenario, survival experts Cody Lundin and Dave Canterbury are lost SCUBA divers who are fortunate to find air, but they are deep inside the maze of caves in Belize.Desert Breakdown - Survival experts Dave and Cody head to Peru's "Valley of the Volcanoes" to take on the ultimate lost-in-the-desert survival scenario: a broken down car, miles from civilization, in the middle of a lava-scorched land with few survival resources.Panic in the Jungle - Dave and Cody take on a lost hiker scenario in the sweltering jungles of Laos. The items given to them for their journey include typical (or not so typical!) items a backpacker might carry: a 35 mm camera, condoms and a pack of cigarettes.Swamped - Survival experts Cody and Dave head to the heart of the Louisiana bayou to take on a po...

Every incredible episode from the debut season of the reality show supreme-Survivor- where 16 ordinary Americans compete for one million dollars by surviving. The contestants are marooned 20 miles off the coast of Borneo and forced to fend for themselves in hopes of outlasting the others in the group which meets every 3 days to vote one person off the island and the show. 1999-2000/color/11 hrs, 4 min/NR/fullscreen. Here's where it all began. The first season of Survivor dominated the ratings in the summer of 2000, helped spur the reality-TV craze, and inspired countless water-cooler jokes about getting voted off the island. The first season established the formula that would continue, with sometimes surprising variations, over numerous subsequent seasons: 16 people intended to represent the American mosaic are stranded far from civilization (in this case, the island of Pulau Tiga, off the coast of Borneo), struggle for food and shelter, compete in a series of physical and mental challenges, and at the end of each three-day episode vote out one of their fellow contestants. After 39 days, the one sole survivor who is able to outwit, outplay, and outlast the others wins a million-dollar prize. Because the Survivor craze preceded the craze for complete-season DVD boxed sets, the first season was represented on DVD and video by a 150-minute highlights package called Season One: The Greatest and Most Outrageous Moments. Now, all 13 episodes are available in a five-disc set (the fifth disc is ...Outrageous Moments) that contains every challenge, every political maneuver, every next-episode preview and previous-episode recap, every tribal council including the famous finale, and the reunion show. If you started watching Survivor in the Australian Outback or later, this is the perfect opportunity to see how host Jeff Probst, scheming Richard Hatch, tough truck driver Sue Hawk, ex-Navy SEAL Rudy Boesch, athletic Kelly Wiglesworth, and the others got the ball rolling. If you did watch the first season, here's your c...

In this hilarious series Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, co-creators of The Office and Extras, send their friend Karl Pilkington (The Ricky Gervais Show) around the world...against his will! Karl thinks he’s visiting the "Seven Wonders" but along the way the “Little Englander†must endure camel rides, jungle treks, tribal customs and local oddballs while dining on toads and testicles... and searching for a clean bathroom. How does a man who prefers vacationing via camper cope with being an idiot abroad? An Idiot Abroad demonstrates that it takes a unique mind to reduce the Seven Wonders of the World to a string of dirty, far-flung tourist traps, but if the mind in question is that of Karl Pilkington, the feat is less extraordinary than expected. The perpetually nonplussed foil for Office and Extras creators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant on The Ricky Gervais Show--later seen in the United States in animated form--Pilkington has a baffling (and baffled) take on humanity, which has made him a sensation in his native United Kingdom, and An Idiot Abroad marks Gervais and Merchant's weekly televised attempt to broaden his horizons by dispatching him to the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. That's not entirely true--Gervais and Merchant have actually sent the poor fellow packing to laugh themselves silly at his utter bewilderment and discomfort in foreign places, and one's appreciation of An Idiot Abroad will hinge largely on whether you consider this practice exceptionally cruel or absolutely hilarious. Those who fall into the latter category will be slack-jawed in amazement at Pilkington's attempt to preserve his shuttered sense of well-being while faced with fried scorpions at the Great Wall of China, a berserk fireworks display in Mexico, naked yoga in India, and gales of garbage at the Pyramids in Egypt. At each stop, Gervais and Merchant fairly bust their sides while encouraging Pilkington to investigate his surroundings, which results in his near-breakdown in a Mexican bullring and va...

In a strange coincidence, good vs. evil emerges as a major theme this season in Earth's Last Eden – the seventeenth season of Survivor. "I think the audience will quickly identify with one group or the other," host Jeff Probst teases. Overwhelming hunger puts alliances in jeopardy as large appetites combined with dwindling rations create an immediate air of resentment at one camp. After a power-drunk castaway decides to take the game into his own hands, the tribes endure a challenge that comes down to a nail-biting showdown. Good and evil are truly on full-display, as one castaway attempts to use guilt to gain control of an ally, while another makes a lifetime commitment in a surprisingly intimate gesture. Will the group of deceitful castaways outlast those who play from their heart or will the forces of good prevail? Will temptations interfere with logical decision-making? Most importantly, who will survive? Shocking tribal councils, crafty use of immunity-idols, and sudden ends to powerful alliances will leave you on the edge of your seat. Tina, Colby, Jerri, Elizabeth..they're all here in the second season of this popular reality TV series. Survivor: The Australian Outback, the second season of the reality-show titan, remains the best season in the series' history. But assuming most people already know who won the million-dollar prize, is there still any appeal to watching on DVD? Yep, because first, the cast was exceptional, claiming no fewer than five of the 18 participants in Survivor All Stars and a few others who could have been. The group included Texas powerhouse Colby Donaldson, villainess-bartender-"aspiring actress" Jerri Manthey; tough Michael Skupin; Keith Famie, the chef who couldn't make rice; buff personal trainer Alicia Calaway; sweet Elisabeth Filarski (who as Elisabeth Hasselbeck later became a TV personality on The View) and her protector Rodger Bingham; mom Tina Wesson; savvy Jeff Varner; and pretty Amber Brkich. Second, the show was still new and the Australian Outback has an appealing freshness when compared to so many subsequent seasons in which the competitors are continually trying to game the system. The challenges are still exciting to watch (though they might seem relatively tame). There was also the beef-jerky incident, the Colby-Jerri dynamic, Rodger's cliff jump, and the domination of the Kucha tribe before the game turned. You might have forgotten many of these developments over the years, though the season was represented on home video by the 2000 highlights compilation The Greatest and Most Outrageous Moments (also included in this set for completists), which now feels a lot like the dreary recap episode that drags down almost every season. The bonus features are pretty good as well. Colby again proves he's top dog by recording commentary for two episodes with host Jeff Probst (who calls the Texan "one of my closest friends"). A more titillating combination is the commentary by Kimmi Kappenberg, Alicia, and Michael for two episodes, including the famous finger-wagging incident and Michael's misfortune....
The complete season of Survivor: All-Stars. Billed as "the greatest Survivor ever" when it launched following the Super Bowl in January 2004, Survivor All-Stars broke new ground for the hit reality series by bringing back 18 of its most famous (and infamous) characters from the previous seven installments to battle it out in a quest for affirmation or redemption (and, of course, the million-dollar prize). Half the fun was seeing who was picked to return, and there were many tasty selections: original winner Richard (natch) from Borneo; Colby, Jerri, and Tina from the Australian Outback; Ethan, Lex, and Big Tom from Africa; and the newest alumnus, Rupert from the just-completed Pearl Islands. (There were, of course, many omissions, such as Mike Skupin, who deserved a second chance after falling into the fire in Australia.) Right from the beginning, it was clear that this Survivor was going to be different. Because people now knew each other (from sharing a previous game, watching on TV, or mixing at Survivor-related functions), some of the schemers were quickly sniffed out and snuffed out, and players were more aggressive about creating alliances (which sometimes overlapped, but hey, it's only a problem if you get caught). In addition, because no one wanted to see someone win a second million dollars, previous champions found that they had targets on their backs. As a result, there was an entirely new wave of power players. Along the way there were some surprising and very emotional developments (which had the unfortunate side effect of killing some of the show's action) and the first on-screen Survivor romance. In the end, Survivor All-Stars didn't live up to its billing as the best ever (that title would remain with season 2 in the Australian Outback), but it did bring a new twist and some genuinely memorable moments to a long-running series. The DVD set adds significant value to the season, including some welcome behind-the-scenes info on the series as a whole. The bonus footage consists of much longer ...
