Four 15-minute workouts
Stay vibrant and healthy with America’s favorite fitness expert!
Developed by Kathy Smith, a leading force in the fitness industry for nearly 30 years, this unique program is specially designed to combat the aging process. You’ll shape lean muscle while increasing bone density and stamina, helping to create a youthful, healthy body.
We lose muscle mass as we age, making everyday tasks more difficult. Strength training builds and maintains muscles, keeping the body firm, lifted, and vigorous.
In this program, you’ll target your arms, legs, glutes, and core in four 15-minute practices with modifications to suit your needs and experience level. If you’re short on time, try one or two segments. Feeling energized? Do all four for a total-body workout!
If you want to boost your metabolism, look amazing, and feel terrific at any age, Staying Strong is for you!
Equipment needed: light hand weights and a mat Even in her late 50s, Kathy Smith is ripped. And Ageless with Kathy Smith: Staying Strong will help just about anyone get there too. As she has for 30 years, Smith encourages, teaches, coaxes, and congratulates--and before the viewer knows it, she's finished a very challenging 15-minute workout. Smith has organized Ageless with Kathy Smith: Staying Strong into four 15-minute workouts, focusing on arms, legs, core, and glutes, so you can do them all for a very advanced workout, or do just one or two to focus on certain areas. Because Smith is a fitness pro, she sneaks core exercises into all four workouts, resulting in short bursts of effective, targeted exercises that work on posture and overall well-being as well as the muscles in question. Smith is so upbeat that she encourages "just one more set" of reps in each area, and that's what will get results. Smith is also an advocate of "active recovery," through which one keeps moving muscles in between the harder efforts. Ageless with Kathy Smith: Staying Strong is aimed at older people who want to get strong and continue to build muscle mass and keep toned. The exercises can be tailored to any fitness level--as long as you commit to working out with some or all of these routines several times a week, you will start to see, and feel, results. The DVD also includes several additional features, including an interview with Smith, a 12-minute stretching segment, and a teaser to a workout led by skater Kristi Yamaguchi. --A.T. Hurley
